New Delhi [India], September 2: Iconic cricketer Sachin Tendulkar congratulated Preeti Pal and Nishad Kumar for their impressive performances at the Paris Paralympics.
Preeti Pal earned a bronze medal in the 200m T-35 race on Sunday, making history as the first Indian woman athlete to win two medals in track & field events at the Paralympics or Olympics.
Nishad Kumar won a silver medal in the men's high jump T47 final early Monday morning. With a season-best jump of 2.04 meters, Nishad secured his second-place finish, repeating his success from the Tokyo Paralympics.
On his official X account, Tendulkar praised both athletes, highlighting their achievements and the impact they’ve made. "Congrats to @nishad_hj for leaping to silver in the high jump! Preethi Pal, you have excelled with another bronze in the 200m sprint, making it two medals this Paralympics. Together, you both are soaring to new heights and sprinting into our hearts. Well done," Tendulkar wrote on X.
India has now won a total of seven medals at the ongoing Paris Paralympics, including one gold, two silvers, and four bronzes.

On Friday, reigning Paralympic champion Avani Lekhara continued her success with gold in the women's 10m air rifle final, while Mona Agarwal earned bronze in the same event.
