Los Angeles [US], October 5: Donald Glover has canceled the remainder of his Childish Gambino concert tour across North America and Europe due to health issues.
Glover has been dealing with an undisclosed ailment, and he shared on X that his condition worsened after a performance in New Orleans, prompting him to seek medical attention in Houston, according to Variety.
"After my show in New Orleans, I went to the hospital in Houston to address an ailment that had become noticeable. After evaluation, it became clear I would not be able to perform that night, and following further tests, I realized I could not continue the rest of the U.S. tour as scheduled. Currently, I have surgery planned and need time to recover," Glover posted on X.
He requested that fans respect his privacy and continue to support him during this time.
"My recovery is something I need to take seriously. Therefore, we have made the tough decision to cancel the remaining North American tour dates, as well as the U.K. and European shows. Tickets will be refunded at the point of purchase. I want nothing more than to bring this show to the fans and perform. Until then, I appreciate your love, privacy, and support," he added.
While he specifically mentioned the cancellation of tour dates in North America, the U.K., and Europe, he did not clarify whether the concerts planned in New Zealand and Australia in January and February 2025 would be affected.
The "New World" tour was intended to be part of what Glover referred to as the "final" project of his Childish Gambino persona, which includes his latest album, "Bando Stone and the New World," an upcoming film of the same name, and a re-release of the pandemic-era album "3.15.2020."
