Lasbela (Balochistan), October 22: The Baloch Yakjehti Committee organized another peaceful protest in Hub Chowki against the enforced disappearances of Baloch youths, despite facing a police blockade on Monday.
This protest is part of an ongoing initiative titled "Breaking the Silence: Standing Against Enforced Disappearances." Families of the missing youths participated, sharing their heartbreaking stories and calling for justice for their loved ones.
In a post on X, the Baloch Yakjehti Committee stated, "The resistance remains strong, and the voices of the Baloch, along with those of the affected families, cannot be silenced by roadblocks or violence. This wave of protests against enforced disappearances, which is a continuation of the Baloch genocide, will persist across Balochistan. The movement remains steadfast despite attempts to intimidate and suppress it."
This marks the second protest by the BYC, following a similar event in Karachi where police resorted to violence and arrested several protesters.
Enforced disappearances in Balochistan represent a significant human rights violation, where individuals—be they political activists or ordinary citizens—can be abducted by government authorities or military forces.
The Baloch people have long demanded rights and control over local resources, but their voices have been stifled through violent measures by Pakistani forces.
This situation has instilled fear among Baloch nationalists, who face suppression through roadblocks and violence, leaving the community in grief and uncertainty.
Earlier, on October 18, Pakistani security forces forcibly disappeared three men from the Panjgur and Khuzdar districts of Balochistan. Following this, the Karachi Police arrested Lala Wahab Bloch, the Central Deputy Organizer of BYC, along with four others during a peaceful protest.
The Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC) is a political and social welfare organization in Balochistan that advocates for Baloch rights and seeks to unite nationalists across the region. The committee addresses issues related to political rights, cultural preservation, and the coordination and welfare of the Baloch community.
